Discussion Regarding Possibility of Providing Groundwater Resources to Pasco County for County Line Road Development Projects

Category:Water/WastewaterFunctions:4111-07091-HCUD Admin

On December 5, 2017, the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners tasked the Hernando County Utilities Department with reviewing the possibility of selling potable water across the southern county line to Pasco County and reporting recommendations to the Board.  This direction arose as a result of a developer seeking to build a project on the Pasco side of County Line Road.

Attached for discussion is a memorandum outlining the Hernando County Utilities Department's findings and recommendations on this matter.  In summary, distributing groundwater resources outside the County is strongly not recommended.
