Letter From US Department of Homeland Security Regarding Update of Flood Insurance Study and Flood Insurance Rate Maps

Received the attached letter from Kristen M. Martinenza, P.E., CFM, Chief, Risk Analysis Branch, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region IV, advising that Region IV is in the process of updating the Flood Insurance Study (FIS) and Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for Hernando County. FEMA Region IV would like to meet with Hernando County and affected communities to review the new coastal floodplains and discuss how the coastal analysis and mapping has changed since the County’s effective FIRMs were issued in 2012.
A meeting is scheduled to be held on December 14, 2017, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the Southwest Florida Water Management District located at 2379 Broad Street, Brooksville, FL 34604. FEMA personnel will be on hand at the meeting to answer any questions and encourages other appropriate personnel to attend this meeting.
