Body

Appendix A (Zoning), Article III (Specific Regulations) of the Hernando County Code of Ordinances regulates the location of, and use of recreational vehicles (travel trailers) on a temporary basis.  The Board requested that the Planning and Zoning Departments prepare proposed revisions to these regulations.  The proposed ordinance updates the requirements pertaining to the period of use and permitting.

The proposed updated regulations constitute a Land Development Regulation; and as such, Florida Statutes require the Board to hold two (2) public hearings with at least one (1) hearing conducted after 5:00 p.m. on a weekday, unless the Board votes by a majority plus one (1) to have the hearing at another time of day.  Therefore, the Board will have to authorize staff to advertise public hearings for consideration of the ordinance at regularly scheduled meetings during normal business hours.
