Hernando County 2040 Comprehensive Plan Public Hearing

Category:Comprehensive Plan

Financial Impact

A matter of policy.

The 2040 Comprehensive Plan is ready for a public hearing by the Local Planning Agency and Board of County Commissioners.  The preparation of the Plan began in 2011 and 2012 when the Planning Department conducted an evaluation and outreach of the current adopted Hernando County Comprehensive Plan. An initial draft document based upon the earlier evaluation and outreach was presented at a “plan kickoff” meeting at the Chamber of Commerce in July of 2016. Presentations to community groups and workshops with the Planning and Zoning Commission and Board of County Commissioners has occurred since the initial “plan kickoff.” The 2040 Plan has been updated for the public hearing based upon the input received.

Attached are the elements comprising the proposed 2040 Plan, summaries from the most recent Plan workshops, and public correspondence since the initial “plan kickoff.”
