Utilization of Lake County Florida Contract With Various Vendors for Fire Equipment Parts, Supplies and Services

Staff requests the Board approval of the piggyback off of Lake County Florida Contract No. 17-0606 for County-wide use. Department purchase orders can only be performed against Department's available funding.

Body

In a continuing effort to streamline the procurement process, institute efficiencies, staff requests that Hernando County piggyback off the Lake County, Florida, Contract No. 17-0606 for Fire Equipment Parts, Supplies and Service for County-wide department use.  By piggybacking of this contract, Hernando County will be afforded the lower purchase prices without having to expend extensive labor and dollars in the solicitation/bidding process.

 

Lake County, Florida, issued Invitation to Bid (ITB) No. 17-0606 ordering various fire equipment parts, supplies and service on an as-required/as-needed basis.  The ITB provided for a one (1) year initial performance period with options for four (4) additional one (1) year terms.  The ITB required each vendor to offer a discount from current published price lists for various brands and manufacturers that are routinely procured.  Vendors were not required to respond to all the various pricing items.  The initial Contract is effective July 1, 2017, through June 30, 2018.  To ensure adequate coverage, availability and the best pricing for any required item, the following twelve (12) vendors were awarded the contract:
