Body

Attached is a proposed resolution proclaiming November 11-19, 2017, as National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week in Hernando County.  The resolution acknowledges that hunger and homelessness continue to be a serious problem for many individuals and families in the State of Florida and Hernando County.

It further educates the public about the many reasons why people are hungry and homeless; apprise individuals of the shortage of affordable housing in Hernando County for very low income residents; recognizes organizations committed to addressing and resolving the many needs of the homeless; and encourages support for homeless assistance service providers, food pantries, as well as community service opportunities for students and school service organizations.
